Kuramathi Village - February 11th - February 26th. Fantastic resort Island that is split into 3. We opted for the Water Villa but got a good late deal price on this. We transferred by boat which took just over an hour whilst some of the other guests paid the extra for the seaplane. To be honest we had a good laugh on the boat and took some great photos and it was all part of the adventure. The Island was all we expected and more. Some of the guests in standard rooms had complained about the decor in these being old and tatty but everyone seemed to love the Island. In general the food was good with plenty of variety. We were on the All Inclusive option but opted to pay a supplement and eat in a couple of the other restaurants during our stay. We have just booked again for 2008 but this time are taking some of our friends. I understand that there are more upmarket resorts but Kuramathi was an Island paradise with friendly staff and at the price we paid could not fault it. Mike and Dawn
Hi, We have just got back from Kuramathi last week after spending two weeks on the Village part of the Island. We stayed in the Standard rooms which, although basic were clean and comfortable. We opted for the All Inclusive option and found this to be ideal for what we were looking for. Plenty of variety and lots of interesting choices to try. As the previous person said, there are more upmarket islands than Kuramathi but we found it to be "Our heaven on earth" and would not hesitate to go back or recommend Kuramathi
Baros - Just returned after a 10 night stay. Where do I start? What a superb location and a beautiful island. We stayed in a Baros Villa on the advice of Steve at Explorer Travel (and he got us a great deal) and I have to say this was one of the best places I have ever stayed in my life. I did not want to leave. We stayed Half Board and the food was just divine. Had a couple of meals in the lighthouse restaurant which I will remember for ever. Anyone thinking of the Maldives in a luxury resort should consider BAROS. We will return
Hi, Just returned from an 11 night tiwn centre stay in the Maldives and then Dubai. We stayed at Full Moon in the Maldives and although we had read some negative reveiws about the restaurants we need not have worried. This island was what we expected and much more, the food was superb and the staff were always on hand to help with anything. We loved this place. Some people said it was too close to Male but this to me was a benefit due to a short transfer. We were off the plane and on the island within the hour. Great holiday, will definitely be returning next year Karen
